This 1975 aluminium Palmer Johnson yacht is an incredible offer and we hope you can take time to study this most interesting yacht.
A much loved yacht in the US, she was originally commissioned and kept on the Great Lakes for 25 years, consequently the hull is like new today. Luxury charters were a natural transition in her second ownership and she is now offered for sale in absolutely pristine condition by her third owners.
The yacht has just come out of a massive 20 month refit, absolutely everything inside and outside, from stem to stern, has either been rebuilt or replaced. Consider a complete re paint, rig removed for new paint, wiring and fittings, new SPECTRA running rigging, new 'certified' Burmese teak decks and caprail, new LEWMAR hatches, new deck prisms, new hydraulic transom swim platform, engine room stripped bare and all machinery rebuilt, new AC and DC wiring, new chargers and inverters, new deckheads, new bathrooms, new marble surfaces, new AC and DC water pumps, new AC and DC bilge pumps, new galley, new Corian surfaces, the list goes on..
So she is presented like new, and you ask yourself how does a yacht like this sail? 'ARIA' is an amazing sailing machine, easily sailed by a couple, she is truly a push button yacht to sail. The boomless mainsail, sheeted to the triple backstays and externally furled at the mast, is a remarkable system to use. On our filming day out with captain Scott Burgess, he demonstrated the speed with which he could unfurl a headsail and the mainsail in such an effortless way.
The next talking point would be Aria's twin centreboards. She has a main centreboard and a small aft centre board which add another dimension to her sailing characteristics. The obvious windward abilities are there and the aft board can really assist directional stability in large quartering seas. Scott has sailed oceans in ARIA and he was keen to alert us to this feature. Both boards were fully re furbished at the refit and are in perfect working order.
Leaving and returning to her berth Scott demonstrated the ease of maneuvering by combining the vari pitch prop, steering jog switch and bow thruster.
Above and below decks ARIA is stunning but extra consideration to the cockpit is deserved. This is such a large, comfortable and also protected space. Behind the helm the extendable table enjoys the best location for an evening dinner, with or without the after bimini. A new VITRI FRIGO DT series fridge is sited in the cockpit. A new surround sound system is featured in this area plus there are numerous 12 volt outlets and usb outlets for device charging etc. The dropdown clears around the wheelhouse structure may all be deployed whilst sailing in inclement weather.
A definite must see, Aria is so fresh from such a huge refit and she is a yacht that has always been maintained by a professional crew and has had the same captain for the last nine years.

A good sea going design, the galley has been re worked in an attractive white theme with Corian counter-tops and now features four 200 litre fridges which were designed and built for maximum facility. There are two 200 litre freezers under the seating in the opposite dinette. Six new salt water cooled compressors were installed during the refit, two for each freezer and two for the fridges. These systems are 24VDC.
FORCE 10 Oven c/w extractor hood. Microwave/convection oven and grill. SCOTSMAN Ice machine. New double stainless steel sink. All plumbing throughout the yacht is high quality German push fit equipment.
The interior has been radically improved during the refit. One beautiful new detail is the curve of the white deckhead into each side, curving beautifully towards the large portlights, eight on each side of the yacht. The two fixed skylights are stunning, day and night. Woods are primarily cherry and white oak. All lighting is now LED. Two new chiller units in the engine room serve ten new aircon outlets throughout the interior. The air conditioning is reverse cycle so may warm the interior in colder climes.
Full forward is the captain's accommodation. He has a large bathroom and access to the foredeck. A chartplotter is sited close to his berth. Moving aft into the starboard guest cabin, there are two single berths opposite each other and a full ensuite bathroom separates that cabin and the captain's. The saloon enjoys the full beam of the yacht with comfy seating port and starboard. A TV screen can also display the video stream from the mast video camera. The TV screen is also linked to a surround sound system with speakers cleverly hidden behind vents. All upholstery is brand new. The second guest cabin is forward to port, a twin cabin with another beautiful wet-room ensuite. All cabins have new pocket sprung latex mattresses.
The galley and dinette are at the bottom of the companionway and a passageway aft leads to the magnificent owner's suite. This cabin also has an emergency exit to the deck.
A total of five very high quality bathrooms.
Five new 24 VDC PLANOS fresh water heads have been installed
