The Najad 490 was the first Najad model designed by Judel Vrolijk & Co. A true long-distance cruiser with excellent sailing characteristics, built by the skilled boatbuilders at Najadvarvet. Several Najad 490s have sailed around the world over the years.
The Najad 490 is a center cockpit boat with a fixed windshield, providing comfort and safety even in windy, cold, and wet weather. The teak deck is not only beautiful but also provides good grip when working on deck. In the bow, there is a large storage space with a watertight hatch – a perfect space to store downwind sails and fenders during longer voyages.
CARICIA is a well-maintained boat delivered from the yard in 2007 to its current first owner. The boat has spent most summers in Scandinavian waters and winters indoors in a heated boat hall. CARICIA has always been professionally taken care of and serviced, maintained, and updated by Orust Yacht Service.
In 2018–2019, the boat received several updates for a planned long voyage to the Mediterranean. Due to COVID, the trip was postponed but was successfully completed in 2022–2023.
The layout offers an aft owner's cabin with a centered double berth and en-suite bathroom. The galley and navigation station are located directly at the companionway. The salon features a sofa and two comfortable armchairs. Forward of the salon, there is a guest cabin with bunk beds, a V-berth cabin, and a guest head with a separate shower. The interior is built in selected mahogany and is in very good condition.
