For Sale: Sailboat with Great Potential

This is a Banner 30, hull number #14, which is the predecessor to X-79 & X-99. It is even more sporty in its characteristics.

This particular boat is one of the first 17 built with a lead keel before the price of lead skyrocketed in the early 80s. This means the boat weighs 2500 kg, of which 1600 kg is in the 1.65-meter deep fin keel, contributing to very sharp sailing characteristics.

We were eager to refurbish the boat, but the to-do list has become quite challenging for us.

Equipment that works on board:

• Main sail with full battens, old but in good condition.
• Roller jib tri-radial laminate, old but in good condition.
• Genoa ~120%, Good condition.
• Spinnaker, original (?) but intact.
• Heavy wind spinnaker, original (?) but intact.
• Furlex and aluminum profile in top condition.
• Rod kick.
• Dyneema backstay.
• All rigging in good/ok condition.

Topside equipment:

• Simrad "autopilot".
• Log and echo sounder.
• DC outlet.
• Battery.
• Bottom epoxy treated and painted with hard bottom paint in 2022.

Okay cushions in the salon.

Extra thick cushions and new covers in the forepeak.

Fenders, mooring lines, etc.

What works less well and needs attention:

• Engine, Bukh DV7 freshwater cooled.
• Downward hatches.
• Leakage in the keel well.
• Gas stove with two burners available but not connected.
