English Two-Masted Sailboat

English Two-Masted Sailboat

A sailboat designed to sit on the bottom at low tide and high tide. For us in Sweden, this means two advantages. Firstly, it is very easy to put on land as no stand is needed, just place it on the ground upright. Secondly, it remains shallow-draft without compromising on seaworthiness as much of the boat and weight are still underwater. No, it's not a speed monster but a safe and comfortable boat in rough seas. These two advantages are further enhanced along the Norrland coast, which is largely shallow and exposed to harsh weather and rough seas.

Interior Features

  • Toilet with tank
  • Freshwater tank
  • Alcohol stove with two burners
  • Simple cooler box
  • USB charger with two outlets

The interior is pleasant and has high ceilings. In the aft cabin, there are two standard berths. In the middle is the kitchen, consisting of a stove that can be hidden under the navigation table, the cooler box, and the sink that draws water from the freshwater tank. The forward berths can be converted into two comfortable seating areas. The toilet is located forward, with the water and septic tanks behind it.

Cockpit

The cockpit is protected and comfortable to move around in, with the mainsheet behind you while sailing. It has been equipped with a new compass since last year.

Engine

The engine is a Mercury 6 hp from 2007, running smoothly. It has just received a new clutch and has been well lubricated. It is conveniently located in the stern and can be lowered with a sled when needed. This setup improves weight distribution while sailing, makes maintenance easier, and enhances theft protection.

Sails

The sails are old but fully usable, consisting of a mainsail and a jib.

This boat is wonderfully enjoyable to spend the holiday in. Simple, small, and spacious! Additionally, it is charming and pleasant in its design and interior. With a shallow draft yet seaworthy construction, toilet, strategically placed kitchen, and customizable interior with plenty of storage space, the boat is a gem on both open and narrow waters.

The boat is sold as is and can be viewed where it is currently on land. It is not prepared for launching, but can be done over a weekend. There are some things that need attention, such as a crack in the grab rail and occasional jamming of the sail when hoisting. I would have addressed these before summer, but an unexpected move south forces me to sell the boat instead.

Various items are included with the boat, such as mooring gear, basic tools, spare parts, a tarp stand, a tarp in good condition, etc.
