For sale is the Star 4691 "Flounder". It was built in 1963 by Abeking & Rasmussen in Lemwerder under the number 5911, christened "Clou IV" and listed as a racing boat in the yearbooks of the Starboat Class Association until 1982.
The Star is sail-ready, in excellent condition, does not take on water, and the hull and deck are tight. No further work is necessary.
The sale includes a special trailer, cover, 4 mainsails, 7 jibs, 4 spare masts, 2 spare booms, 2 jib booms, and a lot of accessories (see details below).
- Hull made of Okoume/Gabon mahogany solid wood
- Deck made of teak strips on AW-100 Gabon plywood
- Equipped with modern racing fittings and trimming devices for sporty ambitious sailing
Since 1980, I have been the owner and over the years, with the help of a boat builder, I have:
- Leveled the seams above and below the waterline with Gabon
- Renewed 80% of the frames
- Stripped the hull and completely rebuilt the paint with International paint
- Rebuilt the deck
- Blasted, coated, and reset the keel with V4A keel bolts
- Installed modern racing fittings (all original fittings A&R from 1963, wooden mast and boom are available and will be sold with the boat, restoration to original condition is possible)
- Performed all maintenance measures regularly and conscientiously

- Trailer: Balbi Oronero, from 1976, galvanized, body in good condition, brakes need to be serviced, no papers, re-registration required, specially designed for Star boats
- 5 masts: 3x silver aluminum, Alco/Emetti, 1x black aluminum, 1x Sitka spruce wood (without fittings)
- 3 booms: 2x black aluminum, 1x Sitka spruce wood (original A&R from 1963)
- 2 jib booms: 1x silver aluminum, 1x Sitka spruce wood (original A&R from 1963)
- 4 x mainsails from North, Sobstad, Vogel-Meier, Fritz, in good condition
- 7 x jibs: 3x North, 2x Sobstad, Rauhdaschel, Fritz

A valuation report from an expert in boat building, the Berlin Chamber of Crafts, from 2011 for €14,000 is available and will be presented.
As with any boat purchase, a prior inspection is recommended. The Star is located in Potsdam on Templiner See in the water. Further pictures and information can be sent in advance.
