The Vattenbussen Aavatar was originally built for the Finnish Maritime Administration as a passenger ship. The sturdy hull was built through hand lamination in the historic boat dock in Fiskars. The vessel is equipped with two powerful Scania DSI 11 engines in relation to the size of the ship, allowing for efficient fuel consumption during cruising speed of 10 knots. Both engines have undergone extensive overhaul in the past five years. The current owners have done significant maintenance work every year, keeping the ship in excellent condition with no major renovation work in sight for the coming years. Aavatar provides a safe and reliable workhorse. The ship is currently in winter storage in Nystad, Finland.
