Bavaria 33 for Sale

After much consideration, we have decided that we will not be able to keep our beloved Bavaria 33 in the long term due to work and life changes. This presents a golden opportunity for someone to take over this wonderful boat, which has been our floating summer home for the past few years!

Specifications

  • Length: approximately 35 feet (10.65 meters)
  • Beam: 11.5 feet (3.5 meters)
  • Height: 49 feet (15 meters)
  • Draft: 5.2 feet (1.6 meters)
  • Weight: approximately 5500 kg

General Information

The boat was built in 2006/2007 (depending on which part of the hull you read) and has been well-maintained by both us and the previous owner. It has a double-keeled hull with a draft of approximately 5.2 feet, which makes it perfect for navigating the archipelago while maintaining excellent sailing performance. The boat was inspected in 2021 with no issues found.

Engine

The boat is powered by a Volvo Penta D1-30 engine with a 3-blade folding propeller. The impeller housing was replaced in 2022 at a cost of 6000 SEK. The engine has been serviced according to the manual. The hour meter is broken, but we estimate that the engine has approximately 700 hours of use since the last reading. The diesel gauge is a bit unreliable, but the 150-liter tank lasts for a very long time since the boat only consumes 0.2-0.4 liters per nautical mile.

Sails

The boat has a furling mainsail and a furling genoa. The mainsail is older but still in good condition and was serviced in 2022. The previous owner removed the battens to reduce friction during furling. The genoa is from approximately 2016 and was renovated in 2022 with a new UV cover. There is also a telescoping boom for light wind conditions.

Electronics and Navigation

The boat has two 160Ah lead-acid batteries for consumption and a 70Ah starting battery. They are not new but still function well. The boat has a new plotter (Raymarine Axiom 9) installed in 2022 at a cost of 12000 SEK. The wind instrument, log, and autopilot are all original Raymarine equipment. The compressor fridge works well. There is a 50W solar panel with an MPPT charger, but the panel may need to be replaced in a few years. The boat's lights and USB outlets are powered by the solar panel. The boat's navigation lights have been replaced with LED lights.

Heating and Water

The boat has a diesel heater and a functioning fridge. The gas regulator was replaced in 2021. The Jabsco toilet pump was replaced in 2022. The boat has a 20-liter hot water tank, a 210-liter fresh water tank, and a 40-liter holding tank with deck discharge. There is a showerhead in the toilet and on the transom.

Interior and Comfort

We have replaced the interior lighting with LED lights. The boat has more internal volume, more opening hatches, and more natural light than the Bavaria 30-32, which is why we chose this model. There is a swim ladder on the transom and a ladder on the bow.

Other Information

A sailboat is a lifestyle, and there is always something to be done to keep it in top condition. We plan to launch the boat in early June and will continue to maintain it until a new owner takes over. This year, the boat has been scraped and painted with Baltic Sea paint. The boat is located in the Dalarö area and can be viewed on land before launching. The handover can be discussed, but preferably at the end of June, both because we want to have one last sail ourselves and to ensure that everything is working properly.
