We are selling our GFK-sailing yacht and welcome offers! We do not provide moorings.
The yacht is a Swedish make, Shipman 28, named "Pulpo". Approximately 1000 units were built between 1969 and 1979. We are looking for a purchase price of around €5500, depending on the amount of accessories included. Sails, mainsail, and 3 foresails, ropes, and the usual rigging are included in the price. Stands/supports for winter storage can be purchased for a small additional fee. Mast supports are included. The ship is currently in a seaworthy condition, and a 5HP Yamaha outboard motor can be purchased for an additional €500, including a pre-installed suspension. The total purchase price is €5700. The hull is in good condition.
The previous owner, also a cruising sailor from our club, the Seglerverein am Stößensee, came up with the name "Pulpo" while eating calamari rings, probably in a Spanish harbor restaurant. As you know, one should not rename a yacht, as it brings bad luck :)
Our Pulpo is an old lady with excellent sailing characteristics, fast and safe (you are welcome to come and test it), built in the mid-70s and still has the original Fairyman diesel engine, which currently requires repair of the frost plugs (an optimal drive for the boat would be a slightly stronger electric motor). The Yamaha gasoline engine is suitable for light winds and navigating inland waters.
The Shipman is 28 feet long, approximately 8.5 meters. The yacht weighs a total of approximately 3 tons, with half of the weight coming from the steel keel (draft 160 cm), making the boat practically "uncapsizable" even in strong gusts. Therefore, it is child-safe, family-friendly, very cozy, and comfortable.
We are a family with two quite large children, and we have grown fond of the boat. We have sailed it on numerous trips, Havel/Wannsee, Oder/Stettiner Haff, and even around the Baltic Sea island of Wollin, and the Pulpo is simply perfect in the ocean waves. We hope to find someone for this wonderful boat who shares the same passion and perhaps even more energy and expertise to invest in it. We want to buy a slightly smaller and newer boat.
The Pulpo has 2 cabins and berths, and can accommodate 2 adults and 2-3 children (depending on size) for sleeping, eating, living, and traveling.
We want our approximately 50-year-old lady to be in diligent and loving hands. There is always a lot to do, and some repairs and minor investments are necessary from time to time. The boat can be viewed and test-driven immediately at the dock in Havelchaussee. We welcome inquiries.
