Hout Bay 33, "Vino Veritas". Long Fin Keel Steel Sailing Yacht. Designed by Dudley Dix. Built in 1995 by RGC of Caemarfon, Wales. A true blue water yacht designed for extended short handed or single handed sailing. Last 18 years stored ashore, Requires recommisioning. Now for sale on behalf of the executors of the deceased owner by Auction with MST Auctioneers on the 7th June 2023..



Designed by Dudley Dix, the HOUT BAY 33 is an aft cockpit radius chined, steel long fin keeled, Bermudan Cutter. Built for the original owner by RGC Steel Boat builders of Caernarfon in 1995 for extended short handed or single handed sailing. Hull, deck and superstructure are of steel. Above the waterline, the hull, deck and superstructure are foam insulated. She has and extended aft deck which protects the windvane. Tiller operated rudder is transom mounted on a stern fin. She has 6 deck hatches. Mast and spars by Z spar. Genoa and staysails roller reefing by Profurl. Fully battened main, genoa, and staysails (1995) all by Jeckells Cruising chute 1999 virtually unused. Yanmar 3GM 30Hp probably less tha 1200 hours use.. Aeogen 4 wind generator, Monitor wind steering Wind vane ... etc  too much to list here..
REASON FOR SALE  The owner, recently deceased, purchased the yacht from it's original owner in 2004. Sailed it down from Dickies of Bangor and had it lifted ashore at Dartside Quay, Galmpton, Devon, TQ5 0EH, Unfortunately through ill health he was unable to carry out the refurbishing work that he intended, and the boat now requires recommissioning. All the loose equipment has been removed from the vessel and is available for inspection at MST Auctioneers, Nr Honiton EX14 4LB. This includes all the sails, navigation equipment, ropes, seft steering, charts, and general sailing equipment. Also available is a copy of the original Survey carried out when the owner purchased in 2004 and a later sonic hull survey in 2008. The owner carried out some work but the vessel now requires recommissioning completely. It is being sold by auction where it lies with what ever equipment is available. Some items are missing from the oriiginal sale paticulars such as sail covers and dinghy but most of the equipment as been stored in the owner's garage.
