Contessa 26 for Sale

Unfortunately, we have to sell our Tessan. We are moving north and cannot keep her, so now you have the chance to own a unique boat with lots of character! The Contessa 26 is a British long-keeled variant of the Nordic folkboat, similar to the IF. It is a safe and fun boat to sail. We took over the boat from a family member in the spring of 2020 and have many fond memories with her, including sailing the Göta Canal. The hull, deck, and cabin are in very good condition. The boat is currently in winter storage on land in Västerås (see picture). The original certificate from 1969 is still available!

Improvements and Maintenance

• Hull completely renovated, new non-toxic bottom paint in 2021. Done by Pir28 in Västerås, receipt available.
• New genoa halyard for the 2021 season.
• Outboard motor serviced annually by certified Mercury mechanic (not before the 2023 season).
• New carburetor for the outboard motor due to factory defect in 2020 (has been running smoothly since then).
• Minor maintenance and battery replacement have also been done.

Known Issues

• Only one of the two electrical outlets in the boat works, and the lights only work when the battery is charged. The battery can be charged, and the bilge pump can be run on both battery and shore power.
• The bow sprit is crooked (see picture).
• The cushions are worn, and the boat's wallpaper is affected by black mold. The wallpaper can be removed. The wooden interior is in good condition (see picture).
• There is a hatch in the wooden floor that is in the cockpit. It is broken.
