As my path leads me to Switzerland, I am selling my Golden Hind 31 in top condition with state-of-the-art equipment, currently located in the tidal area of L'Aber Ildut near Brest (France). I was the third owner of Pelican: the first owner ordered the boat in England in 1980 and sailed on the Baltic Sea and Wannsee. My previous owners sailed to the Canary Islands after extensive refitting (see below), and I sailed from the Canary Islands to Brest. Unfortunately, due to a move to Switzerland, I have to sell the ship. In the past 6 years, more than €30,000 has been invested in new equipment such as genoa, furler, lithium batteries, electrical and inverter systems, induction stove, and Treadmaster (see below). The ship is designed for electricity, with plenty of solar power and a second alternator that can be attached to the engine. It was taken out of the water annually for underwater painting and checks. There is no maintenance backlog, and no major repairs are needed, except for a new zipper on the solar panel (already available) and a slight leak in the sliding roof hatch. The ship is 31ft long, 2.85m wide, and has a draft of approximately 1.20m. The ship was built in 1980 by Terry Erskine Yacht in Plymouth, with teak wood, mahogany plywood, and an original layer of glass/epoxy hard as construction number 230. There are two binders full of plans from the shipyard, including correspondence between the shipyard and the first owner, as well as two more with instructions for technical items. Engine: Vetus M4.14 diesel, installed in 1995, runs perfectly, no smoke, no water in the oil. Shaft system with a water-lubricated stuffing box, regular oil changes with filters (last in June 2022). Replacement oil filter and other equipment are included. Diesel tanks are 2*60l plus 5 canisters of 20l each (about 650 nautical miles at 5 knots). Water tanks are 2*V4A, approximately 190l.
