The Hobie 16 is a sport catamaran. It was designed in 1970 as the big brother of the Hobie Cat 14 by Hobart Alter (nickname "Hobie") and has been built more than 135,000 times to date. It is the most frequently sailed catamaran class worldwide.

The boat is well maintained and has never seen saltwater except for a few regattas.
