14.63m LOA, 4.20m beam, 1.65m draftMaximum displacement: 14,100 kgBuilt by the original German owner in the best quality for 10 years. Then sailed moderately for only 6 years (Mediterranean, Atlantic, Caribbean). After that, it was stored on land for 26 years. I have been the owner of this wonderful yacht for two years and brought it back to life last year. Continuous ownership was/is in Germany, so no VAT issues (as far as known). German ship documents, registration, and home port. The underwater hull has been rebuilt with double ceramic primer and multi-layered CopperCoat paint. The entire ship is almost rust-free! The sails are original but still in very good condition. They have been carefully stored indoors protected from sunlight (UV radiation) along with the ropes. Main sail, genoa, 2x (cutter) jib are available. In addition, there is a WindPilot Pacific+ self-steering system (needs to be overhauled) and a ProFurl L42 cruising furling system. The ship has three anchors. The main anchor is an 87 kg De'Hone (industrial) anchor with 45 m chain (13 mm), which is mounted on the electric anchor winch. On board, there are also two dinghies, a rudder, and an outboard motor (needs to be overhauled). An old generator and a 7 HP dual generator (either gas or petrol, brand new) are on board. Also, a new voltmeter voltage monitoring system for the 24V onboard network, including 2x USB ports. The tank has been pumped out and refilled (600 l). Additionally treated with an additive for cleaning and long-term durability. All oils and filters are new, including seals. Water pump and impeller are new. All belts and hoses are in top condition again. Many other spare parts are still available. The ship is absolutely seaworthy and has been sailed by me throughout the summer (almost 6 months). With light wind (5-7 kn) and only under the mainsail, I could easily achieve a speed of 5 kn! It has also been successfully sailed and motored in stormy conditions. The pure hull length is 40 ft (12.20 m) and the calculated hull speed is therefore 8.5 kn. The steel hull comes from ThyssenKrupp and is 4-6 mm thick. The keel sole is suitable for crushing ice with a thickness of 25 mm and a weight of 6 tons in the North Seas. The dual-circuit cooling is cooled on both sides over the entire length of the keel. Fresh antifreeze (55 liters) is filled. The current location is the US East Coast (near Washington DC). Delivery or sailing support is possible if needed. Also, a berth with a freely selectable duration can be rented cheaply at the current location if desired. The Chesapeake Bay is one of the most beautiful sailing areas there. Shalimar was safely brought back to land during the "hurricane season" over the winter. The engine is a 6 ltr. 6-cylinder Mercedes Benz MB OM 352 engine with great power (130 HP) and the transmission is also running perfectly. The engine has been freshly overhauled. The diesel pump has also been overhauled, cleaned, and readjusted. The injectors have been checked. However, the cooling circuit (heat exchanger) needs to be cleaned and flushed again. It is an affordable ship with manageable and well-calculated investments that allow for a personal touch for the new owner (especially navigation).A viewing is possible at any time by appointment. Specific questions are welcome as well...!
