Albin Ballad - For Sale

Hello,

It is now time to sell my newly renovated Albin Ballad from '75, manufacturing number 164, which my father and I have been working on for 2.5 years.

A newly renovated, well-equipped, and sturdy sailboat, approximately 9m long and 1.55m deep. With its 5 berths, there is plenty of space for a family, a couple, or anyone who wants a safe boat with high comfort.

The boat has only had 2 owners since '75, and during my 2.5 years of ownership, everything has been more or less renovated or replaced. During the first winter season, the entire interior was dismantled, and we "started over". The pictures speak for themselves to a large extent, but below is a brief overview:

  • The entire electrical system was completely replaced in winter '21/'22.
  • All wooden interior surfaces were sanded and repainted in winter '21/'22.
  • New ceiling installed in winter '21/'22, including spotlights.
  • New kitchen, including refrigerator, installed in winter '21/'22.
  • Engine: Volvo Penta MD6, completely overhauled in winter '21/'22. Approximately 20 hours of use after renovation. 2-blade propeller.
  • The hull has been sanded and painted annually.
  • New Dometic toilet installed in winter '21/'22, with septic tank, deck discharge, new hoses, three-way valve, and all gaskets replaced at the same time as the toilet installation.
  • Cooling compartment with Isotherm Compact Classic refrigeration unit (12V), new in winter '21/'22.
  • The entire water system was rerouted in winter '21/'22, with 2 water pumps installed (freshwater and seawater).
  • Alcohol heater, overhauled in winter '21/'22.
  • Furlex 100s genoa furler.
  • Mast overhauled with new lights, etc. in winter '22/'23.
  • Used but in good condition genoa (Gransegel).
  • Used mainsail (Gransegel).
  • Spinnaker + accompanying boom.
  • Halyards led to the cockpit.
  • Lewmar winch handles.
  • All sheets and halyards are in good condition.
  • Winches were serviced in winter '21/'22.
  • Raymarine autopilot.
  • Garmin GPS.
  • Silva compass, new in winter '22/'23.
  • 1 anchor, new in winter '21/'22.
  • Mooring cleats.
  • Fenders.
  • Cockpit tent + sprayhood in used condition.
  • 3 AGM batteries (2 house batteries and 1 starter battery), new in winter '21/'22.
  • Winter cover frame in aluminum, new in winter '22/'23.
  • Boat cradle.

I have probably missed some items on the list, but in short, my father and I have spent approximately 400 hours working on this boat over the past 2.5 years.

It is with a heavy heart that I am now putting the boat up for sale, as the boat is finally considered finished (if a nearly 50-year-old boat can ever be considered finished). Unfortunately, I do not have the time to use the boat to the extent that I would like, as I have moved away from the city due to studies.

The boat is launched and ready for sailing in Jönköping, Lake Vättern. Upon purchase, I can assist with transportation up to the Göta Canal or mast removal for truck transport.

If you have any questions or would like more pictures, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Warm regards,

Adam Gemheden
