Is the Yachting World Diamond the perfect all-rounder racer/ Designed by Jack Holt, Bristol 1 is hull number 7 built in 1960 – she is a fast planning keelboat with a double trapeze harness and is able to accommodate 3-4 crew.
Bristol 1 was the first GRP Yachting Diamond built by Bristol in Aircraft Plastics and in 1961 she won the very prestige’s Gold Roman Bowl for the overall winner of the Round The Island race.
In 2013 the current owner found Bristol 1 in a poor state and went about a complete a very through refit, which included dropping her keel and replacing all keel bolts, stripping topsides, re-sheathing in epoxy and painting in Awlgrip. A new rig was built by Z-Spars to the original design and a fresh set of Doyle sails finished the restoration off.
Having raced successfully in 2018 with a IRC ratting certificate, she was carefully dry stored on a custom SBS trailer and is now awaiting her next owner. A very practical and cost effective keel boat.
