Macgregor 26M SL

The MacGregor 26M is a highly popular hybrid, power / sailboat. Designed to give maximum accommodation space in a trailable 26 foot boat, this is achieved with water ballast, lifting keel and a hull shape which will plane at over 20 knots with its Yamaha 50hp outboard. The sliding galley unit allows for more space in the saloon during the day and easier access to the vast aft double berth at night.

Designed to give maximum accommodation space in a trailable 26 foot boat, this is achieved with water ballast, lifting keel and a hull shape which will plane at over 20 knots with its Yamaha 50hp outboard. The sliding galley unit allows for more space in the saloon during the day and easier access to the vast aft double berth at night. These MacGregors are fitted with a novel rotating mast which increases sail efficiency. Comes complete with a twin axle road trailer supplied by Ashton Marine.

Construction

GRP hull and decks with White gelcoat finish. Planing hull shaped for high speed power use. Water ballasted with lifting keel (0.30m to 1.75m draft) and twin rudders for when under sail.

Mechanicals

Powered by a Yamaha 50hp 4 stroke outboard with 2 x 25lt remote fuel tanks. 2 x 12V batteries (1 year old) provide engine start, engine tilt and trim and service power.

Sails and Rigging

Fractional rigged Bermudan Sloop with deck stepped alloy mast and spars and stainless wire standing rigging. Fitted with the MacGregor rotating mast system which improves mainsail efficiency. The boat comes with a slab reefing mainsail and roller furling Jib.

Accommodation and layout

The MacGregor 26 is built with maximum accommodation in mind and can sleep up to 6 friendly adults. There is a V berth double in the bow with a sea toilet compartment to starboard behind. Saloon seating and table to starboard with sliding galley to port. The sliding galley works to either improve saloon seating or, when slid forward improves access to the large aft double berth. The galley has a sink with manually pumped cold water and a single burner cartridge gas hob.
