It's time to sell my Maxi 77, model year 1975. With a tear in my eye. I'm going on a trip and taking a break from sailing in the archipelago for a year or two.
The Maxi 77 is a beautiful and cozy boat. It also has a teak deck with a nice teak table for the cockpit, which easily fits under the seat along with the gas tank for the kitchen. There is also a handmade toilet + sink with a door in the cabin that works perfectly. New cushion covers were added two seasons ago with high-quality fabric.
It was my first sailboat and I was surprised at how extremely easy it was to learn, so after being on some other boats, I realized that the Maxi 77 is extremely beginner-friendly. It also has a roller furling jib, so there is a line to pull out the foresail and one to pull it in, and you can do it sitting in the cockpit if you want. The mainsail is also attached with tracks on the mast, so it is hoisted and lowered very easily.
It's not a racer, but it still sails steadily at 4 - 6 knots with a little wind. I've had incredible moments and I recommend it to anyone who wants to get out of the concrete jungle for a few weekends or weeks during the summer. I come home from every sailing weekend like a Zen monk.
The boat comes with everything you need to go sailing or putter around with the outboard motor. It is currently on land in Landfjärden outside Haninge. Cushions, motor, and fenders are available for pickup in Södermalm. The bottom was painted last spring, which was the second time I did it.
I don't know the age of the sails. Except that they are nice and beautiful with red details. I will look for a picture where they are being sailed and I can send it to you.
