Cornish Crabbers Crabber 17

The Cornish Crabber 17 gives sparkling performance under sail or power. She accommodates up to five people for day sailing, while there's shelter and camping space for two under the fold-down sprayhood. Her abundant locker space provides stowage for gear, food, an outboard, and even a portable head. She is available as either a gaff or Bermudan rig. The Crabber 17 is great to sail single-handed, can be pushed to the limit with a crew for racing, or reefed early for gentle cruising. Because of her design she can be easily rigged, launched, and retrieved single-handed. The 17 is above all an affordable and attractive sailing boat, typical of the Cornish tradition. She also retains her value well. Having the outboard centrally mounted inside the boat makes it easier and safer to use. It minimizes prop drag while sailing, and ensures a tight turning circle and good control in reverse, thus making the Crabber 17 handle like an inboard.
