B37 for Sale

After 27 years, we are planning to sell our B37. We are the second owner family after the first owner in Gävle, and we have taken good care of this well-built, well-designed, and sturdy boat since 1996.

According to information, approximately 50 boats were built between 1978 and 1981, and Johanna has sail number 206, which means boat number 6. It was built at Porali Marin on Orust, which also built Hallberg & Rassey.

Designed and constructed by Bruno Boström according to Lloyd's guidelines, but no consideration was given to LYS rating. It was built to be a capable ocean sailor with substantial dimensions on everything, resulting in a displacement of nearly 10 tons! However, this does not mean that she is a poor sailor. We have achieved overall victories in several regattas, especially in tough conditions where competitors have struggled.

Who can forget when the Boström 37 was launched, with its spacious aft salon, carpenter's workshop, center cockpit, and incredible width? It was extremely well-equipped by the standards of the time.

Little sister B31 was already well-known when big sister B37 came into the picture and gained great attention, quickly becoming a popular circumnavigator.

Johanna is well-maintained and constantly upgraded, with approximately 550,000 SEK invested since 2015.

2014-2015: The boat was on a shipyard in the Baltic region for a major renovation, including hull painting, a new 11mm teak deck laid on a renovated deck, new teak around the cabin and cockpit. Internal hull lining was replaced along with all through-hull fittings, rigging screws, etc. Deck drainage was installed along with a new Garmin wind instrument and 4 sturdy Harken winches. The forward deck hatch was replaced, among other things.

2005-2018: Webasto diesel heater, sprayhood, genoa cover, and all 42 cushions were sewn new, including frames. Floors were sanded and varnished. LED lights were installed in all lighting points, and an 80W solar panel was mounted with a regulator. An enormous cockpit cover of the convertible type was constructed by Kapellverkstaden, which folds up like a cab - simple and fast, providing a fantastic outdoor space in the extremely large cockpit.

2018-2022: New refrigerator and compressor, aft anchor winch with remote control, plotter, 3 consumption batteries and 1 starter battery, bilge, sea, and freshwater pumps, and lazyjacks, among other things.

2022-2023: A 4-cylinder Yanmar 55hp 4JH3E with M4A gearbox replaces the MD21, and a new 3-blade Flex-o-Fold propeller is installed. It is incredibly fuel-efficient and provides excellent propulsion! New shore power system and hot water heater, among other things.

This is a summary of what has been done in addition to regular maintenance work. The sails are from 2004 and in good condition, and the 136 sqm spinnaker is original and fragile.

The boat is 45 years young but should be seen and experienced with shapes and spaces that still impress today.
