Dufour Safari 27

Dufour Safari 27

VETUS M206A new in 2010

This boat was originally designed by Michael Dufour for the rough conditions of the French Atlantic coast. It is therefore a very robust family-friendly cruising boat and can still be safely handled in stronger winds.

It is also ideal for inland waters. With the retrofitted electric mast lowering device, the mast can be folded aft within a few minutes, and with a height of about 4m, it can comfortably pass under almost all bridges.

Below deck, there is relatively a lot of space for a boat of this size due to clever space allocation and a width of 2.78m. The cabin becomes cozy in the evenings with the continuously dimmable LED light strips. 4 people can sit comfortably at the salon table.

In the forward berth, 1-2 people (depending on how much they like each other) can sleep comfortably. The salon table can be lowered, so 1-2 people can also sleep here. Another person can crawl into the quarter berth if needed.

On cold days, the diesel heater provides cozy warmth. Meanwhile, the food stays well chilled in the compressor refrigerator, which also works well on the move in wind and waves.

There are also some minor flaws that should be mentioned:

Due to the age of the boat, there are noticeable signs of use. A few drops of rainwater enter the cabin through a small leaky screw connection of the teak wood seat bench during rain. The beige paint above the gelcoat peels off in some places (in the area of the rubbing strakes and in the cockpit floor area).

Otherwise, this boat is "ready to go" and tested in the Baltic Sea. We have spent many beautiful hours on it and are selling it only because we have bought a larger boat.
