I am selling our well-equipped Omega 36, which I picked up brand new from the shipyard outside Örnsköldsvik on Midsummer's Day 1986.
Over the past 37 years, we have enjoyed sailing with the Omega around the coasts of Sweden. We have also made many visits to Denmark and Germany. The boat sails like a dream! In light winds, she demonstrates her ability as a light air performer, allowing us to continue sailing when most others have to start using the engine. If you want a figure to gauge her sailing performance, the Omega 36 has a LYS rating of 1.23!
Our Omega is located in Uddevalla.
About 20 years ago, we replaced the standard mast with a furling mast to simplify sail handling.
The galley was renovated and redesigned about 5 years ago, and at the same time, refrigeration equipment was installed for the old icebox.
In the same year, we installed a 100 W solar panel on the garage above the companionway hatch.
In 2019, we replaced the sprayhood and also ordered a cockpit cover. Due to the pandemic, we did not sail at all in 2020, so the sprayhood and cover were never installed that year.
We had a new engine installed in 2022, a 3-cylinder Sole. It has now run less than 200 hours.
The boat has 3 cabins.
On the port side, there is an L-shaped (forward-facing) galley. The saloon consists of a U-shaped sofa on the port side and a longitudinal sofa on the starboard side. Aft of the starboard sofa is the toilet, and aft of the toilet is the navigation area. Aft of that is an aft cabin consisting of a single berth. On the port side, aft of the galley, there is a larger aft cabin with a double berth and a wardrobe separated by a door from the saloon. Between the saloon and the forepeak, there are wardrobes. The forepeak has two full-length berths.
