Hunter Horizon 27 Bilge Keel

Pelorus is a fine example of this Hunter Horizon 27, they were built between 1988-1995 and at the time were larger and roomier than many of its rivals as can be seen by the clever use of space below decks. As with many of this model the original inboard engine has been changed for a 4-stroke Evinrude AF 10hp outboard which is located in the aft locker and makes the boat lighter and provides a cavernous aft double berth. The clever lifting mechanism improves the sailing performance with no drag from a leg or prop in the water for what was already designed as a fast cruiser. With twin bilge keels she will take you to places that fin-keelers fear to tread and allow you to anchor in solitude. Recently relaunched in Summer 2023 and freshly antifouled she is ready to sail away. Accommodation This boat has been cleverly designed to belie her size with an open saloon with centre folding table with seating either side and a double berth forward. The removal of the inboard engine creates a cavernous double berth aft under the cockpit sole. The galley is to starboard and has a sink with freshwater pump and a Plastimo Neptune 2500 cooker with 2 burners, grill and oven and a cold box with storage beneath. To port is the chart table with switch panel and behind that is the separate heads with Jabsco manual toilet and sink.
