Amphitrite

Amphitrite

With more than just a tear in my eye, I offer my Amphitrite here. In my possession for 15 years, the last 4 of which have been dry, because the silly Elbe river from Lauenburg usually has too little water to reach Dömitz and explore the lakes, even though it only has a draft of 80cm...
I don't want a fifth one, so I'm offering it this way.
Built in 1977, construction number 22, our predecessor did a lot of things himself - some things were good, some were questionable. So, first of all, I overhauled the keel box and suspension. Then I largely replaced the unfortunate connection of wood to steel, as rust nests tend to form sooner or later, with stainless steel elements. Bowsprit for the anchor, the housing above the companionway, serious lifelines, mast lowering device, slightly oversized winches, but comfortable, and last but not least, the steering column were gradually added.
The 60HP Mercedes engine has not run for more than 400 hours since its overhaul, and thanks to the cooling in the rudder hack, it has not seen any saltwater either. Driven by a Jüchtner 2-blade adjustable propeller, which takes some getting used to, but works well.
6mm bottom plate, 3mm hull, and 2mm for the deck, it can handle quite a bit.
But that also results in a displacement of 7 tons.
Nevertheless, it starts easily even in light winds, and with good wind, it can reach 7 knots.
We have made beautiful trips to the Osthuk from Wangerooge to dry out: raise the keel, get on the sand, kick the anchor into the sand, and enjoy the beach with the few other colleagues while the rest fights for berths in the harbor.
Getting on and off the boat is no problem thanks to the flow plates welded to the rudder and the handles at the stern.
That's it for the exterior.
Inside, there have been significantly fewer changes - it just wasn't necessary.
Port side, the dinette, starboard side, sink and 1-burner gas cartridge stove, with the keel box in between as a room divider.
Towards the bow, a small space for the toilet on the port side, a cabinet on the starboard side for everything that needs to be hung up. Then the forward berth.
The aft cabin has always been storage space for sails, ropes, and whatever materials you like to have on board.
If you want to turn it into an ark, there are 7 berths, but for 40 days it would be tight - 4 would be the maximum. If there are only two of you, 40 days would work - at least in terms of storage space.
The sails are used, but in good condition.
All in all, a solid, safe cruising boat for people who also like to get their hands dirty and don't want to spend a lot of money on a berth right away.
Of course, you can still invest a lot in it, like with any boat, but you don't have to.
Oh yes, the measurements:
9.30m long, 3m wide, draft between 80-180cm.
I'm happy to answer any further questions on this wave.
