The saloon features a large table with seating for 6/7 people. Plus, a settee berth to starboard. Convenient storage and shelves throughout. The galley is aft of the saloon to port side - with a large work area comprising of single stainless-steel sink, pressurised hot and cold water, Dometic 2 burner stove with oven and grill, plenty of storage, fridge/ freezer. Forward cabin sleeps 3 single berth to starboard, with a double to port, also access to bow compartment. Aft/Captain’s cabin accessed from the cockpit with double berth and vanity basin. The heads compartment/wet room is forward of the saloon to port with wash basin and shower plus sea toilet. 6ft 6in headroom in all living areas. Cabin roof hatches. History and Construction

The 1896 Tjalk Pavilion Dutch Sailing Barge, designed by D. Boat, built in Holland, of steel construction painted black, teak laid decks and coachroof. Displacement hull flat bottom with less than 1m draft. Oak leeboards, lots of beautiful carvings over the main hatch and on the keel hung tiller.

Sails and Spars

“Vertrouwen” is rigged as gaff sloop, hollow wooden mast and boom 2014, deck stepped on a tabernacle, with a mast lowering system via the deck winch. Stainless steel standing rigging 2014, Slab reefing mainsail, hanks on foresail.

Mechanical Systems

Powered via a single Perkins four-cylinder 80hp diesel engine (last serviced September 2019), shaft drive to a bronze three bladed propellor, for added manoeuvrability a bow jet thruster has been fitted, 120 litre plastic fuel tank. With an approximate cruising speed of 5 knots an approximate top speed of 7 knots. Last out of water maintenance 2021, anti-fouled anodes replaced. Some service history available.

Electrical System

7 x 12-volt batteries 75Ah, 24-volt system charging from the engine alternator, Victron battery management system, 240-volt shore power connection with 240-volt ring main, immersion heater, and inverter.
