1991 Endurance 35 - AUD 50,000

We are 2 couples who have been fulfilling our dream to sail and surf some of the best and most consistent waves in the world, located in the Mentawais and Telos Islands.

Indonesia has a reputation as a surf mecca and rightly so, with an abundance of swell due to the Indian Ocean wave machine, you could probably surf every day if you wanted.

While Indo is known for barrels so big you could fit a car inside, theres also plenty of crusier waves if thats more your vibe (which is what we were chasing).

Many people say the ments is crowded so we went in expecting that, however we have mostly managed to avoid crowds by either break selection or by picking the best times throughout the day when crowds are at a minimum or non existent - you get a lot more flexibility when you're on your own private yacht.

Introducing S. S. V (Surfing Sailing Vessel) Ethel Rose, an Endurance 35 (35ft). This is the same make and length yacht that Torren Martin did his Indo trip on in 2022.

Yacht was sailed from Perth to Indonesia in 2021 by previous owners. Ethel has crossed oceans and survived everything the Indian ocean has thrown at her to date.

Surveyor report in 2020 positive and even said that boat was over rigged. A copy can be available to prospective buyers.

Boat flag/visa: Australian flagged yacht. Indo Boat visas last for 3 years and Ethel's expires June 2024. There are several options on how to renew which can be discussed further.

We have given Ethel Rose a lot of love by giving her cockpit and deck a paint and an all over good clean. However, every rose has its thorns and Ethel Rose is no exception. If you're after a perfectly appointed luxurious yacht, Ethel ain't the boat. But if you're looking for an affordable and practical boat that's already located in surfing mecca, then this is your boat.

As with all boats there are constant maintenance items that require attention. Currently these are:

- only 1 of 2 hob burners working

- due for new anti foul

Comprehensive handover on offer. We have done all the hard work for you and we can share our gps waypoints and tracks showing surf spots, anchorages, and even several snorkelling and spearing locations. Simply follow the yellow brick road. We are also happy to pass on all of our cruising intel we have soaked up while here i. E. Provisioning, dexlite, petrol, water, gas, food, etc).

We're looking for the yacht to be sold before the end of our trip (end of September 2023) so first person to commit will become the new owner. Yacht currently in Mentawais/Telos - can be flexible on handover location.

Inspection by appointment with YBC.

Accommodation:

Single Berths: 2

Double Berths: 1

Cabins: 2

Heads: 1

Technically sleeps 6, but we'd say 4 people is more realistic. One double & 2 single bunks in the amidships. We have converted the seating for the removable dining table into a daybed/single (in the saloon). There are two small single bunks in the bow but we have used this space for storage. We've used the double, top bunk, and daybed and then had boards stored in bottom bunk. Cabins; Main cabin (saloon / galley / dining aka daybed - entry from cockpit)

Bathroom at port bow side of main cabin

Amidships cabin with bunk beds and double bed

Foward berths

4x Portable 12V fans for at night. 2x 46W AC fans during the day when suns out.
