Designed as a pure "daysailer," the "Kleine" offers storage space in the forepeak but no berths. All sheets, halyards, and trimming devices are easily accessible by the helmsman alone. Thanks to its deep, protected cockpit, long keel, and high ballast ratio of almost 50%, the Scangaard 21 is safe and forgiving to sail, making it suitable for beginners or children on board. The roller foresail and self-tacking jib make the daysailer manageable for single-handed sailing. The standing mast, deck-mounted boom, and trailer with a total weight of under 1.5 tons simplify handling.
