S/Y Urd has been sailed in the family since she was new in 1973. In the autumn of 2017, she was sandblasted for a general refreshment, to remove old toxic paint, and to address small blisters that had formed in the laminate.
After sandblasting, the open laminate was rinsed with fresh water countless times according to all the rules of the art until spring 2020 when the laminate was carefully sanded clean and rinsed one final time.
After drying, the laminate was thoroughly vacuumed in the summer of 2020, and then the hull was epoxy-treated 5 times, alternating between white and black to ensure coverage. Since then, she has been standing and today the underwater hull is white in epoxy and can be bottom painted or coated with the included T-coat, which provides a hard and smooth surface that is easy to keep clean instead of using antifouling paint.
The sandblasting and epoxy treatment have cost approximately 15,000 SEK in materials, and that is what I am asking for the boat, which comes with new unused cushions, a new sprayhood, some new lines, solar panels, a galley pump, a fresh truck battery, and other miscellaneous items.
The boat can be sailed as it is, it has a complete set of sails in usable condition (roller genoa, spinnaker, and mainsail). The engine is a 6 hp Evinrude from the late 90s, which has been running well but would benefit from a service. With a little more love, she would be in fantastic condition; the topsides are not yet finished, and the interior needs some adjustments to accommodate the new cushions that come with it.
The price is not the most important thing, I want to find someone who truly wants to take on S/Y Urd when she leaves our family.
