A very successful boat, with 2,500 units produced from 1974 to 1983, the Edel 5 was born at the request of the Dutch dealer, the French manufacturer, of a small simple and cheap cabin cruiser. With compact lines, with the keel integrated into the hull and counter-moulded interiors, it has a central maximum beam, a short deckhouse and space available both in the cockpit and in the bow. Reactive in light winds, it requires more attention if they strengthen. Below deck there are 4 berths, a removable table, a chemical toilet, a shelf for charting on the left and a stove. The Gte version (deeper keel and orange hull) is sportier; The 545 version is the most recent, with a white hull and more complete deck equipment.
Electronic tools for navigation: Autopilot (autohelm 1000).
