Electra was professionally built in Portugal to Oceanic standards and has watertight fore and aft cabins and engine room. We have owned her for the last 23 years and lived on board when our children were young. We have maintained and continually improved and updated her to the highest standard, spending over 50,000 euros in 2020/21 alone in preparation for a Westward circumnavigation, which we started in Lisbon at the end of 2021. Electra was surveyed for insurance purposes and valued at 110,000 euros.
Electra then crossed the Atlantic via Madeira, the Canaries and Cape Verde and spent two seasons cruising in the Caribbean but due to my deteriorating health my wife and I have been forced to hang up our sea boots and we sailed her back to Lisbon via the Azores this Summer, 2023, our final voyage.
Electra is out of the water and is fitted out and ready to start again with back-ups, spares and tools on board for almost everything and all eventualities. She is a very strong, safe and comfortable cruising yacht and even has full fuel tanks so you only need to stock up with food and water for her next adventure to begin.
