In 2008 the owner at that time visualize the advantages of a hybrid propulsion, very in vouge today. He replaces the original diesel engines with two Kubota gensets, feeding tow electric motors and also charging the house bank at the same time. At anchor the solar panels and the wind generator takes over. The benefits are numerous; distribution and weight centring, a large redundancy with the possibility to switch and link several energy sources, easier maintenance and the propellers are shaft driven. With the arrival of Lithium batteries, the evolution of solar panels and hydro generation this concept could be pushed further, enhancing the autonomy of this performance catamaran.
Built in strip planking epoxy in a three double cabin version, fast, easy to manoeuvre, well ventilated and suited for live aboard. Her rigid catamaran tender, powered with a Yamaha 30hp, will take a family on comfortable excursions. A recent survey rapport (in French) is available upon demand.
