The Najad 490 was the first Najad model to involve yacht designers Judel Vrolic & Co. This marked the beginning of a long-standing collaboration with Najadvarvet, resulting in several superb Najad models. Compared to most previous Najad boats, the Najad 490 had a more efficient hull shape, keel and rudder design, resulting in fantastic sailing characteristics even in lighter winds. The Najad 490 is a dream to sail on the open seas, yet relatively fast and easy to handle for coastal sailing.
Sail handling is done from the center cockpit, equipped with a fixed windscreen with a stainless steel frame and a sprayhood, providing good protection against cold, windy, and rainy weather. The wide side decks and several sturdy grab rails make it both safe and easy to work on deck. The teak deck is not only stylish but also offers excellent anti-slip functionality and extra insulation.
The Najad 490 Memento Vevire is the last built boat of this successful model. It was delivered in 2008 and specified for blue water cruising, equipped with most of the desired equipment.
