The ship's keel was laid in 1984 and launched in 1990. The ship is built of larch wood on oak trusses. The deck consists of 28 mm teak. Luna was drawn and built by a marine engineer Viggo Asmussen in Tasinge. A place in the South archipelago of Denmark. Luna is designed and built to the principles of a Norwegian lifeboat with the famous Colin Archer as inspiration. The 1st owner sold the ship to the current owner Poul Erik living in Aarhus in 2007. In 2016, 4 enthusiastic friends with sufficient nautical and carpentry skills bought the ship.
The ship is taken care of every year with these new owners. A new engine and reversing clutch installed in 2007.
