Fin Maxi 68 - Boat Listing

Boat number 22 in the series.

This boat has brought me a lot of joy and is a great beginner's boat with its high freeboard and rig not being oversized for the boat. I am selling the boat because I have found love on the other side of the Atlantic, and my money and time will now go towards that instead.

The boat is located in Bredviks harbor (Umeå Sailing Club). It is a very nice club with a fine facility/clubhouse and a sauna out on the pier.

The reduced price is valid until March 20th, after which the full price (18,000 SEK) applies. The boat can be viewed until March 20th, and then again in early May.

The mainsail has two reefing points, and the jib is hanked on type but is on a roller so it can be completely rolled in or out but not in between.

The rigging process is well-documented, and I can provide a small manual before summer. I can also assist with launching/masting if desired (and even sail a bit with you if you'd like).

Sails:

  • Main sail (fresh)
  • Jib (fresh)
  • Spinnaker with boom (nice)
  • Genoa (old)
  • Storm jib (no idea, never used it...)
  • There should be an old mainsail as well.

Engine:

Tohatsu 4HP sparingly used and well maintained. It has been used for about 5 minutes per sail =). A sailboat should sail!

Anchor:

Bruce anchor + chain.

Autopilot that attaches directly to the tiller.

Other:

Comes with a boat trailer.

Stereo with extra speakers at the back that can be lifted up in the cockpit from where you store fenders and anchors.

Solar panel and space for two batteries that can be switched between with a homemade panel. One battery is fairly new, the other is older.

Sanded and painted with two layers before last summer.

Spirit stove

Toilet under the forepeak that goes straight out into the sea...

The boat is watertight. The only time you might get a couple of deciliters of water in the bilge is if it has rained and blown hard so that it rained in under the sprayhood.

Issues:

  • There is some rust in the front edge and underside of the keel as it was difficult to access to sand there. You could install a zinc anode if desired.
  • The line to the front roller would need to be replaced.
  • The wooden hatches and details around the hatches would need to be sanded and varnished.
  • I think I painted over two narrow passages that were needed for the boat's digital temperature and speed instruments to work. So you could remove the paint there. I can show you. I personally don't use that instrument for anything as I use Eniro on the sea on my phone.
