1979 Amel 40 Custom Sloop - USD 49,950

A heavy displacement, strongly built, ocean cruising yacht from South Africa, SENTA is a fast, easily handled sailing boat perfect for two people but also setup and easy to sail single handed. She has proved herself in both light and heavy weather at sea for over twenty years, as well on the yacht racing scene in the five years prior to going cruising by the previous owners.

Designed By Henri Amel and built by Henry Vink Boat Builders in South Africa in 1979 as Henry's personal yacht, SENTA was raced and cruised in SA before being purchased by her previous owners who raced and cruised her continuously for over twenty years in many exotic locations.

Strongly built in GRP with an Airex core, SENTA is a proven and well documented offshore voyager and has been very well equipped and maintained.

Under power she cruises comfortably with a Volvo-Penta MD17D 35hp Diesel, steers beautifully with the tiller and balanced rudder and carries an extensive wardrobe of sails to cater for all sailing conditions.

SENTA has often been away in remote areas for periods of up to six months so is equipped with a massive inventory of Charts, Pilot Books and a comprehensive medical chest with manuals plus five anchors with chain and warps, large house battery bank, solar and wind generator, large capacity fridge/freezer, all required safety equipment and an eleven foot sailing / rowing dinghy with O/B.

Whether you envision completing a solo circumnavigation or embarking on an unforgettable sailing adventure, SENTA is the ultimate vessel to fulfil your seafaring dreams. She is realistically priced and a serious blue water passage maker, ready for long range cruising.
