Summer Dream Sailboat

A true summer dream, a long-keeled classic with the potential to be absolutely beautiful with minimal effort. Charm is abundant. Minor flaws as well. Mahogany superstructure on a plastic hull - get the beauty and enjoyment of a wooden boat without the most difficult maintenance!

10 years ago, a sailing quartet was formed when the beautiful Sauternes was purchased. The intense sailing has taken a back seat as young children have arrived, and now we must pass the baton to someone who has the time to enjoy and care for her.

There is so much to tell, here are some highlights:

• Rigging and sails in good condition. New mainsail in 2016 - lightly sailed since 2017. Always taken down when in home port.
• Wooden superstructure completely renovated 10 years ago and in good condition - needs some scraping and varnishing in places. Hull above the waterline was varnished about 5 years ago with Epifanes two-component varnish. Can be polished up nicely. Below the waterline sanded and painted with 4 layers of epoxy paint.
• Teak deck in good condition.
• Original Vire BVR engine, two-stroke inboard with a fantastic purr. Completely disassembled and fully renovated in 2020 by a two-stroke expert in Västerås. New carburetor (needs fine-tuning) and ignition parts. Original tank had flakes so we installed a portable tank, original tank still available for those interested. Always run on alkylate gasoline since the renovation.
• Bilge pump with level sensor. Lots of ropes. Lots of other bits and bobs.
• Cushions and more in okay condition with some tears.
• Nice pantry with sink and foldable workbench, fresh water tank.
• Harbor cover, sprayhood, and cockpit tent. In varying conditions.

A real gem for those who want a classically beautiful sailboat to maintain and enjoy to the fullest.

Bonus: extremely compatible with folk beer.

Between 1964 and 1980, approximately 70 Vindö 22 sailboats were manufactured by Nötesunds Varv on Vindön. Classic sailboat, long-keeled with a positive stern, and solid interior. Beautiful mahogany superstructure with a plastic hull. Galley to port at the entrance, the salon has two longitudinal sofas that can also be used as comfortable berths. A wardrobe on the starboard side between the salon and the forepeak. The forepeak consists of two berths. Plastic hull and deck, mahogany superstructure, teak deck. The cockpit and entrance are also in mahogany.
