This Roberts / Sullivan centre cockpit ketch was designed and built with serious blue water sailing in mind. Commissioned by the first owner, who oversaw the entire build, and built professionally by Brian Sullivan, of Action Marine, in New Zealand, her original plans were adapted and modified with extensive cruising, safety and extreme live-ability in mind.

Welcome to Antipodes III, a 54ft steel, centre cockpit, pilothouse ketch. Our latest listing. A visit to this boat will only confirm her exceptional build quality, and her ongoing maintenance and care. With 3 cabins, and sleeping berths for 7 people, she is a powerful sailing boat, that prioritises safety and space, with the ability to comfortably navigate ocean crossings and ocean conditions.



Her cockpit is deep and protective, and the pilot house provides a comfortable helm station where you have full visibility, and full protection from the elements. Below deck, her saloon is beamy, open, light and practical, with a large U shaped settee, a linear settee to port, a saloon table, and comfortable leather upholstery. The wood work throughout is in very good condition, with a dusky matt finish that is warm and full of charm. Head height throughout is over 2 meters. The accommodations offer a V Berth with 3 large single bunks, a forward head/ shower unit, and a mid ships port side cabin, which has been adapted into a single bunk, as the current owners removed the top single bunk to make way for their mountain bike storage whilst on passage.

Walking to the Aft cabin, via the twin sinks, and well appointed L shaped Galley, you enter into the cavern of the aft master stateroom. Serioulsy, this cabin has to be seen to be believed. The artistry and skill of the Shipwright is evident here, the wood work lines leading to the transom bulk head creating a vast majestic living space. She has a large work station/ desk to starboard, beautiful cabinets and drawers, and a head/ shower unit ensuite. Through out the entire boat there is solid, wooden, appealing cabinetry, and storage areas. The curves throughout the boat are proof of a master craftsman at work.



As the boat is a full time live aboard home, she is consistently upgraded and maintained as needed. The current ( second) owners are definitely not giving up their adventures on the sea, but with their teenage son potentially leaving for further study, they are looking at continuing their journeys on a boat that can easily be single handed. Looking at her inventory you can see Antipodes has everything needed for off shore, long range sailing, with a 135 hp engine, new solar panels, 900 ltrs of fuel, and a watermaker. Allowing the adventures to take you to remote areas, over long distances, with ample fuel and water and power.



She was designed and built for safety and serious offshore cruising, and is certainly capable of not only tropical sailing, but also taking on the Northern or Southern-most latitudes- and keeping you safe and comfortable in the process. The size and displacement provide a greater comfort in large seas not found on most vessels. Her steel hull is fully primed in phosphate anti corrosion primer, and the entire boat is fully insulated. She also has a diesel heater if you are heading for cooler climates.

Antipodes is currently berthed in Rebak Marina, a resort marina in Langkawi, Malaysia.
