The X-Ray catamaran is developed by Rhebergen Multihull Yachts at Amsterdam in cooperation with Lars Oudrup to be a very fast day-sailer with camping style accommodation, based on the experiences with the Havkat 31 cats, previousy built by RMY. The X-ray is a gorgeous, versatile and indeed very fast catamaran sufficiently seaworthy for spartan voyages along the Nort-west European coasts and trips over tidal shallows. The prototype "Vlerk" is built in the composite strip planking method (woodcore) with western red cedar strips, glass and epoxy, resulting in beautiful long lasting, strong and yet light hulls. The "Vlerk" can be controlled from the comfortable wingseats and offers two berths in the small bridgedeck-cabin, with a lot of extra room under the spacious cockpit tent. In the winter of 2024 both hulls, rudders, daggerboards and the mast were painted and varnished again and decorated with fresh striping. It makes this unique catamaran look like a new boat. Only the sails may have to be renewed in one of the next years.
