PANGEA is a 1999 Catana 411 performance cruising catamaran, designed and built for bluewater sailing. Known for their high build quality, livability, and sailing performance, Catanas of this vintage are popular among experienced multihull cruisers around the world.

She is an owner's version with a large owners cabin, a spacious head with a separate shower, as well as numerous cupboards and hanging space in the starboard hull. The port hull has one guest cabin, a head with shower, numerous cupboards and deep drawers for provisions, and a designated workshop that also contains a Northern Lights 5kva generator and top loading 100liter fridge/freezer (not connected). The starboard bow locker is used as a sail locker with ample storage for sails, sunshade, lines, fenders, surfboards, foils, etc. The port bow compartment is setup as a dive locker complete with a Bauer Junior dive compressor, 2 complete diver setups (regs/BCD/etc) and 5 dive tanks, with storage for masks/fins, wetsuits, spearguns, etc.

PANGEA was designed to have excellent ventilation while maintaining a clean uncluttered deck with only 2 deck hatches for the forward bow compartments. At anchor the forward opening escape hatches can remain open to funnel cool air off the water through the hulls and into the cabins where it exits into the cockpit through side hatches next to the beds. All these hatches can remain open even in heavy tropical rainstorms without water getting in so it never gets hot and stuffy inside. Each cabin also has a large opening porthole on the outboard side for even more airflow, natural light, and visibility. 2 forward facing hatches in the large salon windows keep plenty of air flowing through the salon and galley and into the covered cockpit.

Having dual outboard helms instead of a single bulkhead mounted helm provide for enjoyable sailing while freeing up lots of valuable space to allow for a large seamless opening between the well designed salon and spacious cockpit. Combined with the rectangular tables and seating designs, versus the oval designs of many cats of the same era, this gives PANGEA a larger, more modern living space than many similar sized catamarans.

PANGEA is fully equipped for bluewater cruising and diving in remote places, with a full inventory of spares and all the necessary tools to keep her well maintained without needing to stay close to port. Set-up for shorthanded or single handed sailing. She is equipped with two completely separate autopilots, which makes passage making safer if sailing shorthanded.

PANGEA has never been chartered. She has been very well looked after, and all systems have been continuously maintained and upgraded. We have spent the last 4 and a half years cruising the South Pacific and PANGEA has been the perfect home and platform for exploration while raising our child onboard. We are moving ashore to return to work and are selling her fully equipped and ready for new owners to easily step aboard and continue sailing. Currently in Fiji on the hard while we are visiting family. We will return to her mid-august and do a complete bottom job with new antifoul before relaunching to continue cruising in Fiji. We are in no rush to move ashore and are flexible with timelines for the right buyers. Lots more information and pictures available on request. Serious offers only please.
