Peter Pan is a robust and high-quality blue water sailboat, specifically a Reinke Super Secura model, meticulously built out of steel in 2004 by craftsman Jan Welter for the purpose of circumnavigation. The construction is exceptional, with inert gas welding techniques used to create pore-free weld seams that surpass the quality often found in yard constructions. The alignment precision along the longitudinal axis from bow stem to stern tube is impressively tight, with only a 2mm deviation.

The design philosophy of the Peter Pan emphasizes strength and redundancy. The typical swing keel for this model has been replaced by a fixed, massive lead keel. Key features include an oversized stainless steel bowsprit, large stainless steel cleats, a towering 14-meter Selden mast, and a complete solid stainless steel railing encircling the vessel. It also boasts dual independent water intakes for the engine's cooling system and three electric bilge pumps with a combined capacity of 26,760 liters per hour.

The interior of the hull was sandblasted during construction and sealed multiple times.

Therefore, the ship is rust-free. The yacht's components that typically suffer from rust, such as the railing, anchor locker, chain, rub rails, cleats, bowsprit, emergency tiller, window brackets, kitchen countertop, bathroom floors, and all screws, are crafted from durable stainless steel for longevity and resistance to the marine environment.

Safety and ease of use are hallmarks of the center cockpit, which is surrounded by a head-high railing for optimal protection. The yacht's design allows for convenient access to the engine room from both the front and rear sides, with a removable floor plate in the center cockpit for easy entry, making maintenance tasks more manageable.

Peter Pan received a comprehensive refit in 2021 at a shipyard that left no maintenance issues unaddressed. This included a complete exterior repaint, an overhaul of the standing rigging, mast refurbishment, new batteries, a new shaft seal, a varnish refresh for the furniture, and an upgrade to the navigation system. The navigation system now includes state-of-the-art equipment, such as a GMR Fantom 18 radar, GPS MAP 722 Plus, GNX Wireless Sail Pack 52, AIS 800, and VHF 115, all purchased in 2021 and installed in 2022.

The engine, a Mercedes OM615 2.2L 44Kw hailing from circa 1974, was overhauled in 2006 and has been marinized with a closed cooling system. The engine setup includes two sea water intakes, Vetus sea water filters, and is controlled by a Volvo Penta instrument panel located below deck.

The sail inventory of Peter Pan is comprised of quality sails from Lee Sails and includes a mainsail, genoa, storm jib, trysail, self-tacking jib, downwind sails, and a Chruise Chute. The rigging system was completely renewed during the refit, ensuring reliability and performance.

Steering is facilitated by a Lecombe + Schmitt hydraulic system and a tiller assembly with double rod linkage, designed to enable the use of the emergency tiller at any time without the need for modifications.

For additional safety, the yacht is equipped with various bilge pumps, both manual and electric, and Marelon fiberglass-reinforced, frost-proof sea valves.

The anchoring system features a 10mm x 50m V4A NIRO stainless steel anchor chain (new in 2022), a 27 Kg Bruce anchor, and a Lofrans Leopard 1200W anchor winch, all contributing to a secure mooring capability
