Contest 35S – 1997 – THE famous high Quality Yacht design from Holland – Extensively upgraded and maintained with new teak deck, coppercoat treated hull, lot of newer electronics and most canvas renewed over the last years.

The Contest 35S is a fantastic mix of performance, outstanding sea keeping, easy handling and spacious accommodation. The saloon features a long settee to port and L-shaped settee to starboard, both of which will make good sea berths with the foldable lee boards + a very comfortable front and aft-cabin which sleeps 4. There are numerous stowage compartments, a good galley and a huge chart table. Dutch Angel is one of the latest and the best maintained and upgraded Contest 35S you will find on the marked. She comes with a good set of sails including a beautiful blue cruising shute with a large ”Angel” on it, and a very well maintained and always serviced Volvo Penta diesel engine. She is simply ready to go for any new adventure.

The Contest 35S: Designed by Dick Zaal and with 48 yachts built over a ten year period (1988-1998), the Contest 35s is a classic Contest, but she was a very popular model and upon stepping aboard it's easy to see why. With her powerful sail plan, the 35S was an overnight success on & off the race course. The CONTEST 35S set new standards for the popular "cruiser-racer" classification that combined structural integrity and high levels of interior joinery fit & finish that Dutch builders are famous for both then and now! The well known Contest quality is striking, and she is a very well proportioned yacht. She has an excellent layout, a good sized cockpit and this particular 35s has been extensively upgraded and meticulously maintained by the current and previous owners, she is a fine example and viewing is highly recommended.

The history of the Dutch Angel: A meticulously maintained boat by her 3 owners. Dutch Angel has been known by two other names, ‘FJYRC’ and ‘Bon Bini.’ Papers show hull construction certifi-cate dated March 1998, indicating she was finished later that year and not sailed until 1999.Brought to the UK in 2000 by her first owner, where it’s documented that EU VAT was paid in the UK that year. She was not frequently sailed until after 2000. In 2002 she was sold back to Dutch owners who stored her in a heated warehouse. The current owners purchased Dutch Angel in 2007 and sailed her back to the UK where she was sailed around the Solent and South West of England until 2016 when she sailed along the West Coast of France, and was overwintered in La Rochelle, before sailing to Bilbao and then onto La Coruna, down the west coast of Portugal eventually arriving in the Autumn of 2019 in Lagos where she has only been used locally when the owners have been able to travel.
