This rare to find Ocean Cruiser, a Jeanneau 43 Deck Salon from 2001 in the Owners Version, will be sold by us as the third Owners. The vessel was never in Charter and we bought her in the Mediterranean Sea and substantial refitted her to make it a true self sufficient live-a-board boat, fit for crossing oceans.
It is time for us to depart to new adventures and sadly this involves selling our beloved Sailing vessel.
The vessel came already very well equipped and in a great shape, nevertheless the extend of the refit was approximately 80k USD and has been done within the recent two years.
To name just the most important positions on the refit list: standing & running rigging, new sails (old ones serviced and on board), feathering propeller, conversion to lithium batteries, redundant solar array, Watermaker, Parasailor, all Navigation instruments with Radar, new Autopilot (full redundant), Washing machine, etc. More upgrades and details below.
She is a true power plant. We never dropped below 50% state of charge, despite running Watermaker, air condition, induction cooking, etc. off the batteries without the need of operating our 6 kW Genset. In Mai this year, we hauled her out in Florida where we applied a new Antifouling.
Besides the outstanding comfort we enjoy aboard, she is an easy to handle (even single handed) sailboat which safely sailed us over thousands of miles through partially tough conditions with sustained winds of 30kts and beyond. Thanks to the storm jib, installed on a separate furling, we have not only more stability in the rig, but also the ability to safely sail under such conditions, without using a heavily reefed genoa.
The fact that all lines are running in the cockpit - and three winches are electric - enriches the experience and underlines the safety on board.
As of now, the boat is located in the Calvert Marina in Solomons, MD. If desired, we gladly take the time to move the yacht to an agreed destination and invest time for a detailed handover to go through all the systems and handling of the vessel. That’s the advantage of buying from an Owner, which we did too.
This being said, the associated importation taxes are fully paid and documented for the USA and the European Union.
