http://www.yachtsnet.co.uk/archives/hunter-horizon-23/hunter-horizon-23.htm:-
"A compact family cruiser, the Hunter Horizon 23 offers a comfortable interior with very good sailing ability, and particularly easy handling, with a fractional rig with self-tacking jib. The Horizon 23 packs an amazing amount of space into a small and hence cheap to moor hull. Both twin keel and fin keel versions were built - Hunters calling the twin keel versions 'twin fin' rather than 'bilge keel' to emphasize their performance.
Designed by David Thomas, the Hunter Horizon 23 (later renamed the Hunter Horizon 232, with very little change to the actual boat), was a development of the Hunter Duette, itself a derivative of the well known Sonata 'quarter tonner' club racer from 1975.
With a ballast ratio of over 50%, and an efficient and easily handled three-quarter rig, both fin and twin keel versions sail well, without being overly demanding on their crew. Over 200 Hunter 23s were built from 1989 to 1998, most being twin keeled.
The Horizon 23 design was updated slightly to create the Hunter Horizon 232, which uses the same hull, and is very little different.
The accommodation starts with a raised bunk platform in the bows, which although almost 6' long is very narrow at the bow end, and is probably best thought of as either a child's berth, or as seen her, stowage space.
Aft of this, in the midships part of the saloon, are two settee berths, each 7 feet long, with the saloon table between, and a fold-down chart table by the port berth.
Aft is the heads compartment and galley, and finally behind the galley is a 6' 8" by 4' 6" (at the wider end) double quarterberth.
Headroom is 5' 8" maximum by the galley, with about 5' 6" in the heads compartment and 5' 4" forward in the saloon.
The heads compartment is to port, with marine WC and washbasin. The door is a folding screen rather than a rigid door, to save space"
23 foot, twin/bilge keel, very well-equipped and maintained. Ready to sail away and regularly used. All photographs are less than 2 years old. Currently located in Grimsby.
A surveyors report from April 2016 is available, which can be provided on request.
2 mainsails, original in usable condition and newer in good condition.
Self-tacking jib and genoa roller furling headsails. The jib and genoa are both in good condition. There is a small patch repair on the genoa and its UV strip has been partially replaced. The jib looks less used and is what I am using at the moment.
Plastimo furler which has always worked very well. The bearings in the swivel at the top of the mast were greased a few years ago.
Scooper/asymmetrical-spinnaker with snuffer in excellent condition.
All reefing lines lead to the cockpit. It is a single line reefing system with ball bearing blocks attached to the main sail.
Tohatsu 6HP SailPro outboard engine fitted 2018 with full dealer service history, 2 out of 7-year warranty remaining. 2x 12 litre petrol tanks. The Tohatsu outboard is a short shaft so that it fits fully tilted in the locker. I had to have it specially built as the SailPro model usually has a long shaft. I also have the fibreglass cover for the hole which I've never used.
Standing rigging replaced 2020.
All surfaces below the waterline stripped back to gel coat and sealed with Jotun Penguard 2 pack epoxy primer in 2020. I stripped all the old paint from the hull and keels because it was flaking off, and I didn't know how many old layers there were. I used an epoxy coating over the gel coat and keels as a preventative measure. The hull is in excellent condition, with no signs of osmosis or repairs.
The headlining is in very good condition, especially for a 30-year-old boat. There are a couple of areas where the original glue has come unstuck, and I have used double-sided tape.
